Semi-trailers
Curtainsider trailer: dimensions and capacity.
The curtainsider is the standard tarpaulin-sided semi-trailer in road transport: it offers about 13.62 m of length, 2.48 m of width and 2.60–2.70 m of usable height, and takes 33–34 EUR pallets in a single tier. Its sliding side curtains allow loading from the sides and from the rear.

|---|---|
| Trailer tare | approx. 5,900–6,000 kg; varies by manufacturer |

| Maximum authorised weight of the combination (5 or more axles) | 44 t in Spain since 23 October 2025 (up to 2 t more in intermodal transport; note (*) to table 2 of Annex IX of the RGV) |
How many pallets fit?
In a single tier. EUR pallets: manufacturers' technical sheets (see sources). Industrial pallets: calculated, 13 rows of 2, with 1,000 mm lengthwise and 2 × 1,200 mm across, within the interior width.
| Pallet | Dimensions | On the floor |
|---|---|---|
| EUR pallet (EUR/EPAL) | 1,200 × 800 mm | 33–34 |
| Industrial pallet | 1,200 × 1,000 mm | 26 |
Pallets: calculated with the shipping lines' interior dimensions and the pallet dimensions of EN 13698-1 and ISO 6780; the real figure depends on clearance, the door and the cargo. Validate your load with its dimensions.
What it is used for
It is the most versatile semi-trailer for palletised cargo: the side curtains open for forklift loading from the sides, and it also has rear doors and, often, a sliding or lifting roof.
